Vision Delivered

There is something to be said for a relationship that starts purely on a verbal commitment between two parties. We deal in trust, we rely on it, we want to earn it, and we are proud of it. And the relationship with Uniqwa started with a phone call between Charl and me. He described his vision, I promised we could deliver, and the deal was done. Six weeks later, Charl and Andrea won ‘best of show’ with the stand we built for them at the Design and Décor Show in Melbourne.

From that first phone call, we collaborated closely on the design and execution – always at eye level. The evolution [Revolution!] of exhibition boundaries with SMA Australia

Some clients like to play it safe and follow brand guidelines, expecting us to deliver a beautiful and repeatable brand experience. Others look to us to develop truly unique concepts. When visionary clients align with innovative design thinking, that's where we come in. Extending the boundaries of conventional exhibition design to create something that truly authentic. It's just better.

Working alongside the forward-thinking Verena, Marketing Manager Oceania at SMA Australia, Brand Dimensions tackled an intriguing challenge: how to showcase a 20-foot container housing an inverter without the logistical complexities [and exhorbitant cost] of international transport. The solution? A pioneering 1:1 scale 3D-projection mapping that transformed the conventional into something memorable.

Through collaboration with specialist partners at Pixall, the team crafted an immersive spectacle: a 20-foot white box emerging from a projection wall, springing to life through animations that revealed the sophisticated technology beneath its steel exterior. This world-first for SMA didn't just display their product - it created an unforgettable brand experience that stopped visitors in their tracks.

Continuing the theme of stretching boundaries, the following year, Brand Dimensions elevated the narrative even further. Building on the success of the 1:1 scale 3D-projection mapping, the project evolved into a cohesive digital brand story that was designed to further connect with the audience’s curiosity. In collaboration with Chocolate Studio, a new digital activation was born.

This phase focused on digital innovation, transforming the exhibition into an omnichannel experience that brought the core of SMA’s business solutions to life. Working closely with Verena and SMA’s global marketing team, Chocolate Studio developed a virtual narrative that expanded beyond the physical space we created. The solution leveraged cutting-edge digital production tools, creating an important asset for SMA that can be re-used anywhere in the world.

These achievements marked a decade of trusted partnership with SMA across Australia and South Africa, demonstrating how pushing creative boundaries can transform traditional exhibition constraints into opportunities that challenge perceptions and create lasting impressions.

Sketch Power – Cobram Estate, Good Food & Wine Show Melbourne

Cobram Estate are famous for their range of Olive oils, all grown and produced here in Australia. Our brief was to create an activation space which included several tasting stations, a shop, and a way to show how the olive oil is produced. All within a very limited space - just a tiny18sqm!

Two sketch concepts were pitched to the client, “Cellar Door” and “Olive Grove”. “I find sketching a valuable tool as it’s much quicker and a more organic process than designing on a CAD program initially. I find clients are more forthcoming with suggestions and ideas if they feel a concept is not highly finished and polished when first presented.”  This dynamic approach invites client collaboration on the evolving concept.

Out of the two concepts the Olive Grove won their hearts! The space was planned in such a way that visitors walk through the space rather than around it. This gave us the chance to create an immersive grove experience in linear form, highlighting the journey from cutting to the finished oil, which was exactly what the client wanted.

The finishes palette is deliberately simple just a few colours, finishes and textures. All aimed at keeping the spotlight firmly on the product while still giving a nod to the craftsmanship and heritage of Cobram Estate.

Stepping into the realm of international exhibitions for the first time presented our client with some challenges – the first being where to start? New to the exhibition game Advatek sought the expertise of Brand Dimensions, to help navigate the complex path of exhibiting in a foreign country.

From logistical arrangements to strategic planning, Brand Dimensions ensured the stand was well-prepared and executed for maximum exposure at ISE. Through our supplier network a suitable in country build partner was chosen. The hero product for the stand was their LED pixel controller, (for some impressive lighting displays see more at www.advateklighting.com). Our creative team devised the concept of striking LED lights reaching across the stand. Paired with clever programming the light feature was full of eye-catching colour and movement, the perfect hero for the stand.

Imagine the long-haul flight, the 20+hrs of travel from Melbourne to Barcelona.  Imagine arriving and stepping onto a completely built stand when you arrive.  That was the reality we delivered with our Spanish partners. The stand was ready for the client team to launch into product set up & install.
